- Abstract
With the increasingly serious aging problem in China, the single social security system has been unable to meet people's needs for pension, and the importance of commercial insurance has gradually emerged. Based on the panel data of 30 provinces in China from 2001 to 2015, this paper analyzes the impact of aging degree on the development of commercial life insurance, and further analyzes the different effects of aging degree on the eastern, central and western regions. In general, aging has promoted the development of commercial life insurance. Although the level of the development of commercial insurance in the eastern and central regions is higher than that in the western regions, the increase of the aging degree in the western regions has a more significant impact on the development of commercial life insurance. Therefore, while improving China's social security system, we also need to pay attention to commercial insurance, improve its mechanism of action, so that the two can better combine, and jointly face the aging crisis in China.
