- Abstract
Task-based teaching approach has gradually been developed in the 1980s. It is a foreign language teaching approach which is widely recognized and accepted by practitioners of foreign language teaching. It is also a foreign language teaching approach that is recommended and advocated by The English Curriculum Standards. Oral English teaching is a significant part of English teaching in senior high school. The quality of oral English teaching plays a vital role in the improvement of oral ability and comprehensive language application ability. It is beneficial for the development of oral English education to apply task-based teaching approach into the senior oral English teaching. First of all, this paper discusses the current situation of senior oral English teaching and task-based teaching approach at home and abroad. Afterwards, it states the relevant concepts of task-based teaching approach. Basing on the problems and difficulties in the implementation of task-based teaching approach in oral English class, and then this paper discusses the application of task-based teaching approach in English class.
