P.3618 “ A Book Of Autumn Singing “ is the performance manuscript of the buddhist monks to raise clothes from the public after the summer settlement, P.2704 and S.5572 manuscripts also record this performance. These manuscripts, which are different in style but similar in content and rhetoric, reflect the diversity of “Autumn Singing” performances, and the nature of fundraising activities determines the consistency of empathy art of “Autumn Singing” performances. The “Autumn Singing” performances is performed in conjunction with the secular preaching activities and is very flexible in performance venue and form, and the monks will adopting different forms depending on the target audience. At the same time, in order to achieve the goal of persuasion, the monks do not focus on promoting the Buddhist concept of “giving and benevolence,” but rather on touching the people’s empathy by playing up the sadness of autumn and the thought of the homeland.
