The Fourth International Conference on Advances in Humanities, Education and Language (ICEL IV) 2024 presents a significant milestone in advancing academic discourse under the theme “Global Perspectives, Local Influence: Language Education, Technology, Cultural Diversity, and Inclusivity.” This conference, hosted by the Faculty of Cultural Studies, Universitas Brawijaya in Malang, Indonesia, on October 2–3, 2024, has successfully brought together researchers, professionals, academicians, and industrial experts from around the globe to exchange innovative ideas and research findings in the fields of Education, Humanities, and Social Sciences.
The conference proceedings encompass a wide range of topics across eleven vital sub-themes, including Language Pedagogy, Technology in Education, AI-assisted Language Learning, Language Policy and Planning, Language Assessment and Testing, Teacher Training and Professional Development, Inclusive Education, Materials & Media Development, Culture in Education, Teaching Young Learners, and Teaching Language for Specific Purposes. This diverse spectrum of topics reflects our commitment to addressing current societal issues in language teaching through various scientific approaches.
We were honored to welcome distinguished keynote speakers who provided valuable insights and perspectives: Prof. Akiha Takako from Prefectural University of Kumamoto, Japan; Prof. Umesh Sharma from Monash University, Australia; Dr. Wan Nurul Elia Haslee Sharil from Universiti Teknologi Mara, Malaysia; Prof. Zuliati Rohmah from Universitas Brawijaya, Indonesia; and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Lilla Adulyasas from Yala Rajabhat University, Thailand.
The papers presented in these proceedings have undergone a rigorous double-blind peer review process, with each submission being evaluated by three independent expert reviewers. This thorough review process ensures the high quality and academic integrity of the published works, focusing on originality, significance, clarity, and relevance to the conference’s scope.
We extend our sincere gratitude to all participants, reviewers, and organizing committee members whose dedication and hard work have made this conference a success.
