Abstract

This study aims to describe the ability of junior high school math teachers to develop higher-order thinking tasks in Kutai Timur district. The kind of research was a survey with documentation method. A number of respondents were 34 math teachers of jun-ior high school which certified in Kutai Timur district. This re-search used a document check list as an instrument to collect da-ta. The analyzed data were C1 (remember), C2 (understand), C3 (apply) which classified to lower-order thinking (LOT); and C4 (analyze), C5 (evaluate), and C6 (create) which classified to high-er-order thinking (HOT). Based on this research, the ability of junior high school math teachers in Kutai Timur district to de-velop HOT tasks based on Bloom's revised taxonomy is very poor (20.10 %) which consists of C4 17.65 %; C5 2.45 % and C6 0.00%.
