Abstract

Considering the adverse effects of the multi-point input of large-span spatial structure, the SMA damper bar was designed to replace original bars in the structure. In this paper, there were two projects to replace SMA damper bars, one was replaced of some lower chord's bars, The other was replaced of some web bars, and the effects of this two replacement situations were compared. The analysis has indicated that the lattice type was not changed and the reasonable control was done with this method. So it was a new and superior method of energy dissipation.
