The conference was organized under the theme “Advancing Maritime Resilience and Professional Capability Through Innovative Technology.” ICAMI 2026 brought together academics, researchers, maritime professionals, policymakers, industry representatives, lecturers, cadets, and participants from various institutions to discuss current developments and future challenges in the maritime sector. The aim of ICAMI 2026 was to provide an international academic forum for sharing research findings, practical experiences, and innovative ideas related to maritime resilience, professional competence, technological development, and maritime safety. The conference scope covered several interconnected areas, including advanced ship navigation, maritime education and training, maritime innovation and technology, maritime safety, maritime engineering, maritime transportation, and maritime human resources. The papers included in this proceedings volume are consistent with the conference theme and reflect the multidisciplinary nature of contemporary maritime studies. This proceedings volume presents selected papers contributed by researchers and practitioners from maritime higher education institutions, research agencies, and professional organizations. The accepted papers address a wide range of topics, including AIS-based navigation safety, maritime education transformation, human factors and accident prevention, maritime English and communication, ship engineering systems, maintenance and operational performance, transportation services, safety behaviour, and technology-based maritime innovation. Collectively, these contributions demonstrate the importance of integrating education, technology, safety, and professional capability to support the development of a resilient maritime sector. ICAMI 2026 also served as a platform to strengthen collaboration among academia, government, and industry. In line with the conference theme, the discussions emphasized that maritime innovation should not be viewed only as technological advancement, but also as a means to enhance human capability, operational safety, institutional readiness, and global competitiveness. The conference encouraged participants to develop research-based solutions and practical approaches that can contribute to safer, smarter, and more adaptive maritime operations. We would like to express our sincere appreciation to all keynote speakers, authors, reviewers, committee members, institutional partners, participants, and supporting teams who contributed to the success of ICAMI 2026. We also extend our gratitude to Politeknik Pelayaran Barombong as the host institution for its continuous commitment to advancing maritime education, research, and professional development. We hope that this proceedings volume will provide useful insights for researchers, educators, policymakers, maritime professionals, and students, and that it will contribute to the ongoing advancement of maritime resilience and professional capability through innovative technology.
