Abstract

This paper explores the aerodynamic performance of an inflatable wing in aircraft using both theoretical and experimental methods. The theoretical analysis is based on inflatable structures and the existing simple pressure vessel equations for the necessary structural analysis. The present work also conducted more detailed aerodynamic analyses of inflatable wing, and in particular considers the trends for coefficients of lift and coefficients of drag, which help to understand with the varying airfoils angle of attack in predicted the lift to drag ratio behavior.
