Abstract

With empiricism at its core, Descriptive Translation Studies aims at deducing and validating the translation norms for specific translation activities under the specific cultural contexts. Besides, understanding and interpretation are essential to humanities and Translation Studies. Therefore, while in pursuit of the precision, replicability and validity of research outcome, translation researchers should impose a humanistic interpretation on their research, thus integrating the humanity of Translation Studies with the rigor of empirical science.
