Abstract

This study aimed to investigate the influence of perspective-taking on prosocial behavior in early childhood. The research used quantitative approach with the ex post facto design used survey data collection. The sample of this research was taken by using a stratified proportional random sampling technique. The samples were 300 children in Sleman, Yogyakarta. The data obtained through a questionnaire given to teachers to obtain perspective-taking data on children and used interviews to obtain the children’s data prosocial behavior. The data were analysed by a linear regression analysis. The result showed that there was an effect of perspective-taking on prosocial behavior in early childhood (p<0.05). It means that perspective-taking could predict prosocial behavior in early childhood.
