- Abstract
This article analyses the approaches for evaluating the economic impact from the world's top sporting events, with the focus on the "willingness to pay" technique. The variations of this model and basic assumptions are also assessed. Authors developed their own social research study dedicated to measuring the willingness of Russian citizens to fund top sporting events, particularly focusing on the examples of the 2018 FIFA World Cup
