Abstract

Embedded system for the automotive electronics becomes increasingly powerful, whereas the system structure becomes more complex. There is a high coupling between hardware and software which makes it hard to develop applications. To solve this problem, we proposed a middleware based on OSGi, namely OSGiIV. By embedding the middleware into the ECU (electronic control unit) in the vehicle, we can provide a unified interface for different ECUs, and provides a service-oriented application programming environment for the car platform applications.
