Abstract

The shape recognition is an important research problem in the field of computer vision. It has been widely applied in the field of scientific research and engineering technology, such as object recognition, image retrieval based on content, character recognition, and medical diagnosis, etc. This paper introduces the key technology and the mainstream algorithms of shape recognition. At the same time it has also analyzed and summarized the advantages and disadvantages of various algorithms.
