As we know, the COVID-19 pandemic has affected many industries worldwide, not just economic but social and educational. Some of the events of critical importance to the growth and sustainability of innovation and learning within the academic community, such as conferences, seminars, and even lectures, have been hit the hardest by this coronavirus pandemic. Many important events have been affected by the nationwide lockdown. Therefore, to accommodate the researchers from all over the world and to be consistent in maintaining the continuity and the development of science and technology, the 1st AREISSH 2021 is still held in this year although in virtual way. It is hoped that 1st AREISSH 2021 be one of the conferences that support the advance of the science and technology. Thanks to the God, although we are facing the corona pandemic, the researchers are still be able to produce good research and still have great spirit in finding new technique or methods in many areas. The purpose of the 1st AREISSH 2021 is basically to provide the researchers and academia to exchange, to discuss the results of their study, so that they can meet the industrial needs and government regulations, and also to publish the research. Although, this year conference should be held virtually, however, the 1st AREISSH 2021 is still able to facilitate researchers from all over the world to meet and to make opportunities to collaborate. This year 1st AREISSH 2021 conference is held online on August 25, 2021, base at the Yogyakarta State University. This conference presents: 1. Prof. Dr. Muhadjir Effendy, M.A.P. from Minister of Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Cultural Affairs, as Keynote Speaker
2. Prof, Siddharth Chandra, Ph.D. from Michigan State University
3. Dr. Kirsten Kamphuis from University of Münster, Germany
