- Abstract
A NiCrAlY coating has been prepared by electrospark deposition (ESD) technology on gun steel and its isothermal oxidation behavior at 950°C investigated. The results indicated that the NiCrAlY coating consists only of a homogeneous single -NiAl phase; NiCrAlY coatings substantially increase the high-temperature oxidation resistance of gun steel and the oxidation process is retarded mainly by the presence of -Al2O3 and -Al2O3 oxide scales formed on the coating
