Abstract

Given the rapid development of the Chinese banking industry, commercial banks are increasing their asset sizes simultaneously.China has several commercial banks in the forefront of global banking.The efficiency of small-sized, medium-sized and large-sized banks have become central to the healthy development of the Chinese banking industry.This study uses the data envelopment analysis Malmquist index to analyse the efficiency of Chinese commercial banks from 2005 to 2014.
