Abstract

In general, nouns are the only word class that could be regarded as definite. In Indonesian language, suffix -nya could functioned as a definite marker as well. However, word with suffix -nya that has definite meanings are not limited to nouns. By corpus-based analysis combined with dependency theory, evidence obtained that word with the suffix -nya as a definite marker are found in word class other than nouns in Colloquial Jakartan Indonesian. The suffix -nya as a definite marker could be attached to the other word class such as verbs, adjectives, interrogatives, pronouns, numerals, and proper names.
