Website: http://www.ss-esd.org/ The 2023 2nd International Conference on Sport Science, Education and Social Development (SSESD 2023) was successfully held in Qingdao, China, from August 11 to 13, 2023 (hybrid event). This Conference was the second in a series of topical meetings and was attended by more than 80 participants from different countries and regions. For this second meeting we chose Qingdao as our Conference venue and met with our old and new friends. While the location of the conferences may be changed, what remained invariant is the aim of these conferences, which is to discuss recent advances and new perspectives in sport science, education and social development in a pleasant and friendly atmosphere. At this meeting we had a comprehensive overview of this fascinating field and of future scenarios thanks to the participation of leaders of the most important projects. The Conference presented an outstanding paper volume covering the most recent advances in sport science, education and social development, including Sports Culture Construction, Lifelong Sports Ideological Education, Computer-Assisted Cooperative Learning, Massive Open Online Courses, etc. The papers in this Proceedings published by Atlantis Press represent a collection of plenary talks, invited keynote speeches and other contributions. The Conference program consisted of four keynote speeches presented in plenary sessions, including four “hot topic” speeches highlighting the most recent advances in related fields, and various oral and poster presentations. The program included speeches by Yong Shang (China University of Petroleum, China) on Construction of University Physical Education Curriculum System. To adapt to the new task and new situation of sports reform and development in the new era, life safety issues of great concern in college physical education were studied. And it’s found that it’s feasible to realize integration because the purpose, content and function of life safety education and college physical education are the same. However, school life safety atmosphere has not yet been formed, so it is inevitable that there will be many problems. Therefore, it is an effective way for life safety education in the new era to integrate life safety education into college physical education by making use of PE curriculum thinking and politics, exploring PE teaching contents and methods, combining natural disasters and accidents and adhering to the PE teaching method of combining theory with practice. We would like to thank the participants, especially those who contributed speeches, posters and manuscripts, for making SSESD 2023 such an exciting and memorable Conference. We thank the Technical Program Committee for putting together the outstanding program and the Organizing Committee for their tireless efforts in the organization of the Conference.
