- Abstract
This paper has investigated the sequence of follow-up questions in televised mediation sessions from the point of Conversation Analysis. The high frequency of mediators’ follow-up questions displays hosts or hostesses or mediators’ initiative. Besides clarifications, elaborations and consistency follow-up questions in press conference and news interview context, in mediation context we also have verification and argumentation follow-up questions. The factors for these additional two follow-ups are discussed in the final part.
