Abstract

In this paper, eight typical online searching platforms for missing children in China are compared and analyzed from the aspects of participants involved in searching, targeted group of people, ways of searching as well as advantages and disadvantages. According to the comparative analysis on the similarities and differences of the platforms of these platforms, they are classified into three modes: traditional website searching mode, internet platform searching mode and multi-lateral cooperation searching mode. Followed by the summarizations of the advantages and shortcomings of the three modes of online searching platforms. Findings indicate that the existing platforms can find missing children by combining public security departments, social organizations and public welfare persons, but at present the online searching platforms has not yet formed a unified emergency response mechanism for missing children, and its operation mode is insufficient, resulting in inefficient searching, and the degree of information diffusion and dissemination cannot achieve the best results.
