Abstract

Investment decision making is a complex process in investment and influenced by many factors. One of them are accounting information. Accounting information has a beneficial value to investors in investment decisions. However, rather than consider accounting information, investor psychology be the underlying factors for the investor in making investment decision. This study aims to determine and analyze the psychological factor determining investment decisions by beginner investors on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) in West Sumatera. The aims of this study is to analyze and examine: 1) the effect of risk perception, problem framing and information asymmetry on investment decisions. The results shows that only risk perception had the positive correlation with investment decision in capital market, while problem framing and information asymmetry had no relation to investment decisions.
