- Abstract
This study aims to examine the long-term and short-term relationship between international economic variables and Singapore’s foreign direct investment in Indonesia. This study uses a quarterly time from 2006 to 2020, using the Error Correction Model (ECM) analysis. There are three important findings in this study. First, in the long-term relationship, Singapore’s foreign direct investment in Indonesia is influenced by Singapore’s economic growth, Singapore’s inflation, domestic investment and economic openness. Second, in the short-term relationship, Singapore’s foreign direct investment in Indonesia is affected by economic openness. Third, Indonesia’s economic growth, Indonesia’s inflation, the BI Rate and the exchange rate have no effect on Singapore’s foreign direct investment in Indonesia in the long and short term.
