- Abstract
The use of environmental protection facilities by farmers is essentially the behavior of farmers targeting the production and consumption of public goods, which is affected by many factors. Based on field research data, this paper takes the use of biogas digesters as an example to explore the influencing factors of farmers' use of environmental protection facilities. It is found that economic factors and government intervention have significant impacts on farmers' use of environmental protection facilities. Among them, the construction cost and use income, government subsidies and government supervision have a positive effect on farmers' behavior, while the operation cost has a negative effect. In addition, gender is also an important factor affecting the use of biogas digesters. This paper proposes measures to strengthen the publicity and education of female farmers, increase government subsidies and improve the development of biogas industry chain, with a view to promoting the use and development of environmental protection facilities such as biogas digesters.
