Welcome to the Proceedings of the Innovation in Engineering Education 2026 Conference (IEE 2026). Under the guiding theme “What shall we do with AI in Engineering Education?”, IEE 2026 provided an international forum for discussing the impact of artificial intelligence and related technological developments on engineering education. The conference aimed to facilitate the exchange of research results, educational practices, and professional experience, with particular emphasis on the responsible and effective integration of AI into teaching and learning. Its scope included AI in higher engineering education, competence development for future engineers, digital and smart learning environments, AI-supported engineering problem solving, and the broader social implications of these developments.
