Greetings to all of us,
Welcome to Surakarta city,where the 6th ICVEAST is held for two days, July 25–26, 2023. This conference is organized by the Vocational Education Program, Universitas Indonesia, as an annual international conference to develop innovative applied research in Indonesia, particularly within the context of vocational higher education. International Conference on Vocational Education Applied Science and Technology (ICVEAST) was formerly known as the International Conference on Vocation for Higher Education (ICVHE). In 2022, we rebranded the conference to focus on being an international forum where scholars and practitioners share their ideas on vocational education, especially within applied science and technology. The rebranding from ICVHE to ICVEAST marks our fifth conference. This year, we present our sixth conference, with the theme, “VOCATIONAL 5.0: Virtuosity Collaboration for Sustainability Development and Innovative Technologies Goals 5.0.” Collaboration for sustainability development is a crucial part of achieving a sustainable future. It involves working with stakeholders, such as governments, businesses, non-governmental organizations, and communities, to develop and implement sustainable solutions. These stakeholders can pool their resources, knowledge, and expertise by working together to create innovative solutions that benefit the environment and society. The collaboration also helps ensure that all stakeholders are on the same page regarding sustainability goals and objectives. This event will gather representatives from different countries, diverse areas of knowledge, and lots of education, research, public institutions, and organizations. As an interdisciplinary approach, the 6th ICVEAST 2023 will approach these issues from various perspectives and actively involve stakeholders from the relevant fields: business, healthcare, engineering, social science, and humanities. During the event, there will be four types of sessions: business talks, keynote sessions, parallel papers, and poster presentation sessions. We intend to have an interactive conference through these four different types of sessions. With a multidisciplinary approach, this international conference will gather experts worldwide and represent various stakeholders. On this occasion, I would like to express my gratitude to our speakers, reviewers, co-host universities, sponsors, media partners, and organizing committees for all the support and work dedicated to this conference. I also congratulate Prof. Muhamad Sattar Rasul from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia as our first Adjunct Professor. Hopefully, your contribution will benefit Vocational Education Program Universitas Indonesia in developing future education, research, and community service.
