- Abstract
Sexual violence in higher education institutions is a serious issue affecting student safety and well-being, hindering the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 5 (Gender Equality) and Goal 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions). This study examines the institutional response of two public universities in Surabaya, Unesa and Unair, to the prevention and handling of sexual violence policies based on Minister of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology Regulation No. 30 of 2021. Through qualitative methods and document analysis, this study finds that both universities have adopted strategic policies and established Task Forces for the Prevention and Handling of Sexual Violence (Satgas PPKS) to create a safe and inclusive campus environment. The findings provide important insights into the implementation of sexual violence policies in higher education and support the achievement of the SDGs.
