Praise Allah SWT's presence because, with His permission, we have been able to compile an International Seminar Proceedings with the theme "Optimization of Sport Sciences, Health, and Tourism to Achieve Sustainable Development Goals." This proceeding can be published based on the results of the international seminar. The 1st International Conference on Sport Sciences, Health, and Tourism (ICSSHT) was held on November 13-14, 2019.

This international seminar is part of the Faculty of Sport Sciences' contribution, Universitas Negeri Padang, to disseminate and communicate and exchange ideas on the latest topics from sports and sports science and seek further the best solutions to actual problems inter-disciplinary approach.

This proceeding has gone through the editorial board of scientific papers' editing process and is equipped with discussions and questions and answers during the seminar. Hopefully, the publication of this proceeding can be of benefit and can be used as a reference in developing research related to the development of the world of sports. We express our deepest gratitude to all parties involved in completing the preparation of this proceeding and apologize for any imperfections in the publication of this proceeding.

Although not everything, the benefits of sports can be understood and felt theoretical and applied in real life. However, theoretical studies are still needed for things that can be accepted so that sports can be accepted empirically and theoretically.

Along with the development of the world today, the development of sports is swift. This development was accompanied by emerging issues and knowledge in the field of sports. It is hoped that this seminar forum will be able to provide a forum to communicate and exchange ideas about sports and sports science topics and further seek solutions to problems.

Higher education, especially the Faculty of Sports Science, Universitas Negeri Padang (FIK UNP), also takes responsibility and is directly involved in preparing the human resources above by preparing the generation to face issues that arise in sports. The resulting outcomes can be aligned and have reliable competitiveness in responding to the challenges of globalization and free-market competition.
