- Abstract
The problem in the research is the low character of students in the lecture process. This study aims to find out how the character of hard work, teamwork, discipline and creativity through the teaching model of character values uses audio-visual media as one of the technological innovations in the learning process. This type of research is qualitative research which is described in descriptive form. The study was conducted on 31 January - 10 April 2019. The research was conducted at the Faculty of Sport Sciences, Padang State University. The process of collecting data in research is more of a description than the results of observations, interviews, discussions and documentation. The results of the study show that students can explore their abilities through the process of making learning videos (audio-visual media) that can train the character of hard work, teamwork, discipline and creativity. With the model of character education teaching with an audio-visual media approach that is applied systematically and continuously. It is expected that a student will have emotional temper. This emotional intelligence is an important provision in preparing students for the future, because someone will be easier and more successful in facing all kinds of life challenges, including the challenge of succeeding academically.
