Welcome to the 5th International Conference on Statistics, Mathematics, Teaching, and Research 2023 (ICSMTR 2023). The conference theme for this year is “Advancing Research and Teaching in Mathematics and Statistics for Transformation towards a Civilized Soci- ety 5.0”. This reflects the fact that a civilized society of 5.0 will foster collaboration and innovation. In particular, technological advancement has always played a crucial role in developing societies as it fosters innovation, knowledge dissemination, and the devel- opment of critical skills that can contribute to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
