Abstract

Indonesia has a long history since the prehistoric period to contemporary history. How do we decide what is important to learn about the past? This article aims to provide arguments about the historical significance of the battle of Surabaya in the Indonesian curriculum and history textbooks. Historical significance varies over time and from group to group, but the results of this study indicate that the position of the battle of Surabaya remains significance in Indonesian history
