The Big Books – based learning materials are reflected by using self evaluation method, and are revised based on the users' needs. The validation was done in accordance with the results of expert review method. The results of the research show that the validity score of the learning materials developed is 3.80 (very valid). Hence, this research produces a set of Big Books – based literacy reading teaching materials for establishing the characters of the 2nd grade students of Elementary School.
