Abstract

This study aims to analyze the communication strategies used by the Communications and Informatics Office (Diskominfo) of Malang City in improving the growth and empowerment of Community Information Group (KIM/Kelompok Informasi Masyarakat) in Malang City. The analysis was carried out using a 10-step approach to John Middletons communication planning. This research is a qualitative research with case study method. The type of research is descriptive research. Data collection techniques through in-depth interviews, literature studies, and documentation. The object of this research is the implementation of KIM guidance in the Communications and Informatics Office of Malang City along with the stakeholders. The result of the research is to describe the communication strategy of KIM Based on Regional Potential by taking into account the character, physical and non physical potentials in each village from the planning stage up to the evaluation stage.
