Tradition is a potential to be developed into the collective identity of an area, including the subur-ban village area. There is a sub-urban village area in Karanganyar Regency that has built its regional identity as Wayang Village. Therefore, this study aims to describe the formation of the identity of Wayang Village in Sawahan Village, Jaten District, Karanganyar Regency. To illustrate the formation of the identity of the Wayang Village, a functional structural scheme developed by Talcott Parson was used. This study is a single case study conducted by cross sectional. The data is sourced from information obtained directly from interviews. Other data were also collected from observation and literature studies. The informants were selected in a purposive manner using gender, age, and actor involvement typography with a total of 16 people. The data were analyzed using an interactive model with triangulation validity.
