Proceedings of the Sixth of International Conference on English Language and Teaching (ICOELT 2018)
It is our great pleasure to welcome everyone at the Sixth International Conference on English Language and Teaching in 2018 (ICOELT 2018) as an annual conference hosted by the English Department of FBS Universitas Negeri Padang, Indonesia to commemorate the university anniversary, of Universitas Negeri Padang. This conference was conducted on July 25-26, 2018 at the Faculty of Languages and Arts of Universitas Negeri Padang (FBS UNP), in Padang, West Sumatra, Indonesia.
This scientific meeting accommodates the scholars, experts as well as anybody who has interest in researching English language and linguistics, English literature, and English education to share their ideas and current research findings. The theme of the conference is “Literacy and Competency in EFL Learning in the 21st Century”. There are some subtopics discussed, such as, Multimedia and ICT in EFL learning, Teacher training and development, Translation studies, English language teaching, and current issues in Linguistic studies.
After careful abstract selection, the committee invited 95 participants to present their paper in this conference at FBS UNP Padang, Indonesia. Additionally, we accepted a total of 35 best papers to be published in our conference proceedings at Atlantis Press. At least two experts rigorously reviewed each papers, and the team of editors carefully compiled them into one volume.
We would like to thank the organizing committee and the members of reviewers for their kind assistances in reviewing the papers. We would also like to extend our best gratitude to Rector of Universitas Negeri Padang, Prof. Ganefri, Ph.D.; Dean of FBS UNP, Prof. Dr. M. Zaim, M.Hum., and Chair Person of English Department Dr. Refnaldi, M.Litt. for their tremendous support. Furthermore, we would like to thank Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Thi Hong Nhung. (Hue University of Foreign Language, Vietnam), Dr. Raqib Chowdhury. (Monash University, Australia), Prof. Dr. H. Didi Suherdi, M.Ed. Tupas (National Institute of Education, Singapora), and Amreet Kaur Jageer Singh (Sultan Idris Education University/UPSI, Malaysia) as the invited speakers for their contribution and ideas shared in the conference.
We are particularly grateful to our committee, for their enormous support, and to the reviewers, who share their valuable time and expertise to evaluate all manuscripts submitted to this issue.
