Abstract

In present paper, by installing the wind tunnel consisted of the spirally-reinforced-groove pipe with the diameter of 325mm, the velocity at different radial positions is measured in the text section where the flow is fully developed into the turbulent. Correspondingly, the velocity profile is obtained. By comparison with the theoretical velocity profile in the smooth pipe, the measured results have shown that the velocity profile in such special pipe is obviously different; especially at the non-dimensional radial position of 0.45 by the radius of pipe, the local minimum of velocity is appeared. These phenomena indicate that the spirally-reinforced grooves not only affect the variation of velocity profile, but also disturb the instability and accuracy of measurements in a certain extent.
