Abstract

3D printing is a new additive manufacturing technology that many consider to be a “disruptive” technology that will change the world, claiming it will trigger a new round of industrial revolution. Due to the many defects brought about by open-loop control in traditional 3D printing, more and more researchers have chosen to introduce feedback control into 3D printing, thereby improving a series of printing defects brought about by open-loop control. This paper classifies different aspects of the 3D printing process that can be optimized by feedback control, including nozzle control technology sand equipment motion control technology. The nozzle control technology is divided into three parts: nozzle extrusion control, the combination of wire feeding and nozzle extrusion, nozzle temperature control. The device motion control technology is divided into two parts: improving the device motion by algorithm and improving the device motion by real-time perception. Through the survey and summary of the above content, the specific problems brought by open-loop control in the process of 3D printing and the specific methods adopted by different researchers for “feedback control-based 3D printing product quality improvement” are discussed, and some suggestions are put forward for the research of feedback control system.
