The International Conference on Law and Justice (ICLJ 2017) was held in Jakarta, Indonesia on November 7 - 8, 2017. The main topic of this conference is Good Governance and Human Rights in Muslim Countries: Experiences and Challenges. The conference is organized by Faculty of Sharia and Law, Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University.
The main objective of this conference is to bring together academics, researchers, practitioners, students and other groups whose interests are in the issues of good governance and human rights to share their works and experiences in relation to the topics. In addition to disseminating thoughts and research findings, the conference is also intended to strengthen networking and collaboration among participants. The benefits to be obtained from this international conference are: First, the exchange of knowledge between academics, researchers, practitioners, and students in the field of law and human rights; Second, the establishment collaborative research on the issues of good governance and human rights, particularly for the context of Islamic higher education institutions; Third, publication of scholarly works in international proceeding; Fourth, strengthening Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University as one of the leading Islamic universities in the Southeast Asia.
The Conference has received hundreds of abstracts from various domestic and international institutions of which 60 full papers were accepted by our reviewers. The papers included into this collection from several countries underwent a careful peer-review by the team of experts, prior to being selected for the publication.
The Committee has organized the review procedure. Two reviewers assessed one paper by using a review matrix. The review form includes criteria, such as abstract, introduction, method, result and discussion, conclusion, and reviewers’ brief recommendations. After passing through a careful round of reviews by the experts, in which each paper is reviewed by two reviewers, out of 60 submitted papers 40 papers were finally accepted.
