Abstract

The literary works since the Chinese economic reform, such as Mo Yan’s Jin Fa Ying Er (Blonde Baby) and Han Shaogong’s Ba Ba Ba (Dad Dad Dad), have constructed new monster children images with commonalities. Monster children images have four characteristics. The first is the product of the combination of grotesque and frailty, the second is the special mother-child complex, the third is the “salvation” function, and the fourth is the expression of adulthood.
