Abstract

China’s extensive and profound civilization has produced a wealth of decorative art treasure house, water decorative art is one of the representatives. Using the art methodology of semiotics to interpret the water ornamentation on pottery and porcelain, this paper makes a scientific study on the shape and intrinsic meaning of the water ornamentation on pottery and porcelain ware from the perspective of signifier and signified, and looks at how the ancient people endowed the natural elements with rich connotations. Appreciate the rich cultural and spiritual inheritance behind the artistic beauty of water decoration, and take the water decoration on ceramic vessels as the entry point of the vast traditional culture. In the current era of multiculturalism and informatization, extract the essence of traditional culture and the combination of the characteristics of The Times, and inject rich national and spiritual connotation into the design.
