- Abstract
College English, one of the most popular public basic courses in Chinese colleges and universities, is a general course for learning English language and its culture with long class periods. Hence, it is also an important front of “Ideological and Political Education”. College English teachers have the responsibility and conditions to take on the important task of practicing “Ideological and Political Education”. Contemporary college students are inheritors of Chinese traditional culture. They shoulder the mission of telling Chinese stories, spreading Chinese traditional culture, and interpreting Chinese characteristics to the world. This paper discusses how to integrate Chinese traditional culture into college English teaching in different aspects, including classroom teaching, extracurricular activities, online learning and offline practice from the perspective of “Ideological and Political Education”, and tries to explore an effective implementation path for college English teaching model.
