- Abstract
The circular economy is widely recognized as a promising approach to environmental sustainability. In such a system, resources are reused, recycled, and conserved to minimize environmental impact while maximizing productivity. This study investigates the use of wastewater derived from integrated layer chicken and catfish farming, as well as the determinants influencing farmers’ willingness to adopt its utilization. Data were collected from 55 farmers in Blitar Regency in September 2023. Logistic regression analysis was applied to assess the likelihood of wastewater use. The results indicate that awareness of high quality irrigation water was negatively associated with the use of wastewater from the integrated system. Other factors such as age, gender, farming experience, education level, frequency of wastewater use, ease of use, and perceived benefits showed no significant correlation. Enhancing farmers’ awareness of the benefits associated with wastewater reuse in integrated layer chicken and catfish farming is crucial for optimizing its utilization, necessitating focused educational initiatives and extension programs.
