- Abstract
Changshu, also known as Qinchuan, has been a performance exhibition and research center of the Chinese guqin since the Tang and Song dynasties. As the hometown of the Guqin, the history of guqin can date back to the mid to late Ming Dynasty. Nowadays, Changshu has excellent guqin makers and inchoate workshops to promote the guqin business and bring guqin into the public view. Whereas, there are many problems in the industry that cannot be ignored. This article analyses the current situation of guqin in Changshu in terms of the conservation measures that have been implemented, guqin makers, development flaws and suggestions for countermeasures.
