Abstract

English department as a faculty of North China Electric Power University (NCEPU) is truly taking use of these advantages, of course. However, as the employment situation in recent years becoming more and more serious, the job market demands more form graduates who majored in English. Thus, how to improve the quality of graduates and how to reform teaching methods has become an urgent problem. In this regard, the author take the teachers and students in English department as the target of investigation, and research to the actual situation of English teaching for English majors in NCEPU, aiming at discovering their problems during the English teaching process and putting forward some suggestions on these issues.
