Investigation on the Development of State-Owned Enterprises in Benxi City–From the Perspective of Enterprise Innovation

- Abstract
From the perspective of organizational innovation, the researcher interviewed 98 middle managers and employees of 27 state-owned enterprises under Benxi SASAC. The results show that: 1. The state-owned enterprises in Benxi City are mainly small and medium-sized enterprises; the innovation sources of enterprises are mainly internal, and purchasing and learning are the main ways of external knowledge sources. Technical training, rationalization suggestions and technical innovation competition are the main forms of internal employee innovation. 2. Corporate innovation culture has a significant impact on employees’ creativity and innovation. Organizational support and corporate innovation culture significantly affect the improvement of employees’ knowledge and skills. 3. The knowledge and skills of employees are the most important factors of enterprise innovation. The knowledge and skills of employees significantly affect the innovative cultural characteristics, organizational support, publicity and training, and material assurance of enterprises. 4. Enterprise innovation culture plays the most important role in promoting employees’ knowledge and skills. The knowledge and skills of employees are the important dimensions of individual creativity. The individual creativity of employees influences organizational creativity. The knowledge and skills of employees are the genes of enterprise innovation, and the enterprise culture and employee knowledge and skills are the important components of enterprise core competence. 5. The innovation culture level of state-owned enterprises in Benxi is lower than that of sample enterprises in Shanghai and Liaoning Dimension level. Finally, the measures are put forward from three aspects: 1. Building enterprise innovation culture; 2. Improving employee knowledge and skills; 3. Carrying out various employee innovation activities to promote the improvement and development of innovation culture in Benxi state-owned enterprises.
