Proceedings of the International Conference of Early Childhood Education (ICECE 2019)

It is our great pleasure to welcome everyone at the Fifth International Conference of Early Childhood Education (ICECE) 2019 as an annual conference hosted by Department of Early Childhood Education, Faculty of Education, Universitas Negeri Padang to commemorate the university anniversary. This conference was conducted on October 24-25, 2019 at the aula or Hall of Faculty of Education of Universitas Negeri Padang, in Padang, West Sumatra, Indonesia.

This scientific meeting accommodated the scholars, experts, practitioner, as well as anybody who has interest in researching, development, challenges, and in early childhood education to share their ideas and current research findings. The theme of the conference is “Early Childhood Education in Industrial Revolution”. There are some sub topics are discussed, such as, children literacy, early childhood math and science education, early childhood education policy, digital based child-teacher-parent relationship in industrial era, and the use of ICT in early childhood education.

After careful abstract selection, the committee invited 95 participants to present their paper in this conference at FBS UNP Padang, Indonesia. Additionally, we accepted a total of 42 best papers to be published in our conference proceedings at Atlantis Press. At least two experts rigorously reviewed each paper, and the team of editors carefully compiled them.

We would like to extend our best gratitude to Rector of Universitas Negeri Padang, Prof. Ganefri, Ph.D., Dean of FIP UNP, Prof. Dr. Rusdinal, M.Pd., and Chair Person of Early Childhood Education Department Dr. Delfi Eliza, M.Pd. for their tremendous support on this conference. Furthermore, we would like to thank Prof. Dr. Martini Jamaris, M.Sc. (Universitas Negeri Jakarta, Indonesia), Nor Mashitah binti Mohd. Radzi, Ph.D. (Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris, Malaysia), Adelaila Jurado-Leaño , P.hD. (Philippine Normal University, Philippine), as the invited speakers for their contribution and ideas shared in the conference. We would also like to thank the organizing committee and the members of reviewers for their kind assistances in reviewing the papers.

We are particularly grateful to our committee, for their enormous support, and to the reviewers, who share their valuable time and expertise to evaluate all manuscripts submitted to this issue.
