Abstract

The combination of too much input of target language culture in English teaching, the lack of mother tongue culture input and the penetration of western strong culture lead to a crisis of identity construction of EFL learners in China. Cultural identity enhances national sense of belonging and pride. Therefore, in the context of globalization, English learners are suggested to keep a critical eye on different cultures and learn to take what is beneficial for their personality development and identity construction.
