Abstract

The article discusses the works by Boris Valentinovich Yakovenko, one of the most prominent representatives of neo-Kantianism in Russia. The article examines Yakovenko’s ontological and gnoseological views. They are analyzed in the context of the essential German and Russian philosophical currents of the early 20th century: phenomenology and neo-Kantianism. As a follower of neo-Kantianism, Yakovenko devoted much of his research to issues of cognition. The article is focused on the problems of transcendence, the existence of ideal entities, the unconditionality of cognition, the correlation between subjectivity and objectivity in cognition, and the achievement of absolute knowledge.
