Abstract

There are many factors that affect the non-English majors and English learning. This paper will explore the cognitive errors that affect students’ English learning and their causes in the new era. The main reasons for these errors are student misunderstandings, such as “Learned Helplessness”, “Rational Ignorance”, and “D-K Effect”. Analyzing the causes of these misunderstandings and putting forward corresponding solutions will help non-English majors establish a better understanding of English learning process and stimulate their initiative and consciousness.
