Proceedings of the 1st International Conference on Character Education (ICCE 2020)
Dear colleagues,
It is our pleasure to present to your attention the Proceedings of the 1st International Conference on Character Education (ICCE 2020). Our 1st International Conference on Character Education was held in Semarang, Indonesia by Indonesia Association of Pancasila and Civic Education Profession (AP3KnI) of Central Java Branch on August 24, 2020. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Conference was held in the online format. ICCE 2020 was jointly organized by Universitas Muhammadiyah Semarang (Semarang, Indonesia); Postgraduate Department of Civic Education, Universitas Sebelas Maret (Surakarta, Indonesia); Department of Civic Education, Universitas Negeri Semarang (Semarang, Indonesia); Department of Civic Education, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (Yogyakarta, Indonesia); Department of Civic Education, Universitas Sriwijaya (Palembang, Indonesia); and Faculty of Human Sciences, Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (Johor, Malaysia). This year the main focus of the Conference was on the topic: The Challenge of Character Education in Covid-19 Pandemic Era. The participants of ICCE 2020 sought to achieve a holistic understanding of the nature and status of the modern human from the standpoint of the interdisciplinary approach. The main objective of the Conference was to provide the opportunity for lecturers, teachers, researchers, and students in the field of character education, civic education, moral education, values education, citizenship studies. ICCE 2020 has received 57 manuscripts, each paper was peer-reviewed by two experts, and 41 submissions have been selected for publication. We hope that the papers included in these Proceedings will provide new insights and ideas for the readers interested in studying character education. Let us express our gratitude to all the participants of ICCE 2020 for their valuable contribution to the work of the Conference. We would also like to thank everyone who worked hard to organize the Conference and prepare the Proceedings for publication. And we especially thank Atlantis Press for our collaboration.
