In today's world where digitalization is sweeping the globe, big data reshapes industrial patterns and profoundly redefines scientific research paradigms. The 2025 6th International Conference on Big Data and Social Sciences (ICBDSS 2025) was held from October 24 to 26, 2025, on Jeju Island, Korea. The conference gathered experts, scholars, researchers, and industry representatives to engage in interdisciplinary and multi-dimensional academic dialogue.

Adhering to the principles of openness, collaboration, and innovation, ICBDSS 2025 aimed to drive the in-depth integration and extended application of big data in social science research. The three-day agenda proceeded in an orderly manner, featuring three keynote speeches by Prof. Jalil Piran, Prof. Fonny Dameaty Hutagalung, and Prof. Hongbing Cheng, an invited presentation delivered by Prof. Jiyan Xu, and oral presentations by young scholars. These sessions ensured diverse academic interaction and the sharing of research achievements.

Continuously fostering a more open research environment, broadening the breadth and depth of academic cooperation, and jointly building an innovative ecosystem for a community with a shared future for mankind—ICBDSS 2025 was a concrete embodiment of this concept. It established a high-level platform for global researchers to share findings, exchange insights, and spark inspiration.

Covering economic, educational, medical, governmental, and other social domains, the outstanding works included in this proceedings volume demonstrate the critical role of big data technologies in facilitating social progress and scientific decision-making. These research findings encompass either a macro-level scrutiny of national strategies and regional disparities, or a micro-level analysis of individual behaviors and corporate choices, presenting a multi-dimensional perspective of social science in the big data era. Thus, the publication of this proceedings volume will contribute to the advancement of interdisciplinary research on big data and social sciences, foster the dissemination and application of academic achievements, and provide insights for building a more intelligent, green, and inclusive society.

Finally, we sincerely acknowledge the dedicated contributions of all participants, reviewers, organizing committees, and supporting institutions. We hope this proceedings volume will serve as a reference for readers who engage in interdisciplinary exploration in the fields of big data and social sciences.
